Today, I learned phrasal verb expressions.
- Throw out (throw somebody/something out)
- We threw out a lot of stuff when we moved.
- I threw out some food because it wasn't good anymore.
- It means "to get rid of something that you do not want or need"
- And, "to decide not to accept a plan, suggestion, or legal decision"
- We usually throw out all our old magazines.
- "to make someone leave a place, school, or organization, especially because they have done something that is against the rules"
- "if people throw out a plan or suggestion, they refuse to accept it"
- The bill was thrown out by the Senate.
- "if something throws out smoke, heat, dust etc, it produces a lot of it and fills the air with it"
- Blow (somebody) away
- "to make someone fell very surprised, especially about something they like or admire"
- It just blows me away, the way everyone's so friendly round here.
- "to kill someone by shooting them with a gun"
- "to defeat someone completely, especially in a game"
- Nancy blew away the rest of the skaters.
- I was blown away by this Pink Floyd album.
- It means that "to impress or amaze someone very much"
- "to make someone fell very surprised, especially about something they like or admire"
